I have a 97 Buick Park Avenue. The car would not start while the engine was hot. So I put a new starter on. Not the problem. Put a new theromostat sensor, not the problem. I took it to another mechanic. He put new cables on the battery. Not the problem. It took them two days to find the problem. The problem was the security sensor on the transmission. When I put it in park the sensor (which malfunctioned) thought the car was still in drive. The sensor will not let you start the car in drive. The part cost about 65.00. The car is running great. I hope this helps.
