2007 mercury grand marquis

Asked by LeahD1978 Apr 25, 2020 at 06:07 PM about the 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had a new battery put in my car, everyday driver, very
well maintained. I started the car went to the store but just
before I pulled in the radio went off, ac blowing hot air and
power steering went out. When I parked I was still running.
When I turned it off an tried to turn it back on it just clicked.
Alternatator was new 5 years ago.  When it was jumped off
it started but wouldn't let me put it in gear then cut off
again.

Possibly bad starter, something in the starter shorted out, draining the battery and electrical system, regulator which is inside the alternator, it goes bad alternator is considered bad. New alternator Unlimited Life Time Warranty. Cost more than a reman but pays for itself in the long run.
