2008 Ford Escape

brakes go to floor, still stops, very spongy, no leaks. What could be wrong?

My wife had one of these. Could be one of two problems... brake fluid low (easiest fix) or needs new brake pads (slightly more challenging/expensive fix). Good luck.

If brake fluid is low it is either leaking out somewhere or brake pads are low once pads are installed caliper piston is pushed in and brake fluid is pushed back into master cylinder.
