Had same issue with wife's Tahoe. There's a sensor of some sort on the transmission(if I remember correctly) which caused it. Dealer replaced it and no more issues. Been a few years ago, so can't remember specific details of the part.
Could be a number of things. Mine was the fuel pump. Another time it was the EGR valve.
