Overheating

My 2008 Ford Explorer is over heating I
took the t-stats off but when I started to
drive it with in 2  blocks  the cat started to
overheat. I don't know what to do.  Can
anyone give me some tips on how to fix it.

Is the check engine light lit? If the catalyst overheated, sounds like raw fuel is getting burned in the converter and that could be a bad leaky fuel injector.
