2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

Asked by Garciajess42 Feb 18, 2016 at 10:25 PM about the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased this van, and warning
lights randomly have came on. First the tire
pressure light, then the engine light. The
code read Brake Switch/Cruise Control.
This morning no lights were on. I had it
read again; no codes were stored in the
brain/computer. I drove it around all day;
no lights. Then tonight the traction light
came on and the gas light. The tank is full
and were diving around town in spring like
conditions. The van is running fine. What
can I do!

Tire pressure light is nothing to worry about... just check the pressure and fill if necessary. The engine light with the Brake/Cruise reading should be diagnosed a little further with a better scanner.... its sounds like a speed sensor is beginning to fail... speed sensors are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace... a parts store can quote a price on the sensor, and any good mechanic can replace the bad one in about 15 minutes.... might be able to get it done just for buying the technician lunch! the good thing is that you're getting an engine light, and the engine is just fine!
