Transmission
I have a 2010 f150 5.4 liter. I have approximately 162000 miles. There are no
service lights on.
Over the last year it has begun to have a sporadic issue when it down shifts into
first gear. It may go for days or even a week or two without any problem. Then
it may act up for 2 days or 3 days straight. Seems especially bad when I get
stuck in rush hour stop and go traffic. It makes a hard thud almost like
something's hitting when it down shifts into first gear. I've taken it to two
different transmission shops. Both have said the transmission appears to be
fine. It has all new tranny fluid and filter with less than 20,000 miles. They
recommended I get with Ford as it could be a computer issue. I've checked with
Ford and there are no recalls or computer updates. Ford wants me to bring it in
so they can charge me money to look at it. Hoping not to have to do this. Any
idea what could be causing this?
Thanks,
Jon
