Overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My jeep has been overheating to a quarter line
from Hot. I just had my thermostat replaced due to
an engine light one month ago. And since then it
seems to be doing this. My mechanic looked at it
and everything seems normal. Is there anything
you can think of that may cause it to do this? It's a
V6 not a V8 if that makes a difference.

Could be a defective thermostat not opening fully or they may have not gotten all the air out of the system.

Thank you brianator! He topped up my antifreeze (I believe) and said there may have been an air pocket when he hooked up the thermostat, but regardless everything is working great now!!
