If you have a rod knock the engine has been starved for oil and you will need to rebuild the engine.

Ok but could this have happened by the oil cooler pressure control valve being damaged.. the car was drained for and had no oil for three days when they finally put oil in it they found that the oil cooler pressure control valve was pinched and the valve was damaged to a point where the oil was leaking excessive

Perhaps this was the cause but the bottom line does not change. If you want to blame the shop and make them pay for a new engine good luck. You may need to have another shop look at it and give their opinion.

I do if they caused it.. that's why I want to find out. What do u mean "the bottom line does not change"?

We turned the car on and off at the shop and their was no noise what's so ever. my understanding is that the oil has to go through that oil pressure control valve before it goes in to the filter and then the gallery
