Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and my car started to get hot not
overheat just above where it should be so i pulled
over and put antifreeze in it bc it was low and why i
was doing that a guy looked at it and said i needed
to change the timing belt. I went home the next day
i was only driving it about 5 mins away to a garage
and the whole car just shut down kinda like i ran
out of gas but i didnt. From there i had it towed to
my house. Is it possible that i messed the engine
up and even if i get the belts replaced it still wont
start bc i need a new motor?

1 Answer

I have read that the timing chain/belt and water pump healthy are intricately linked.
