1987 mustang gt  won't start without starting fluid. Once it starts, it sounds like it has a radical cam then dies

im gonna check to see if its 180 out or maybe module ill have it tested

Won’t run at all if cam is 180 degrees off. I’ve seen some really worn timing chains/gears run fine. I would not tear into it this early. Make sure the distributor timing is at 10 degrees with the chip at the distributor unplugged (these cars run much better/stronger at 16 degrees than the factory spec of 10). Make sure your fuel pressure is 43-ish PSI with vacuum line off the modulator. Lastly make sure plugs, distributor cap/rotor and spark plug wires are in decent shape (I always preferred factory Ford distributor cap & rotor over aftermarket).
