Asked by Redearthguy Mar 03, 2018 at 02:13 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My trunk will not open and it blows the lil 5a fuse
every time I change it. So If I need in, I either have
to climb through the back seat or change fuse, any
ideas to the why?

maybe a 10 amp fuse can help. It's just a bit thicker and wait to see if it can withstand current.

Slap a 15 or 20 amp fuse in its spot.. if that blows you might have a wire grounding out

My latest... I did change the fuse and it works for a while, then stops....Example, it worked this morning, but after my 6 hour drive to Naples FL, it wouldn't open... Tonight I go out after car has cooled off from our trip... The trunk will open again? What does the relay do?
