Transmission???

My 2000 explorer went bang clunk slipped out of
drive and now won't go into overdrive and the
overdrive off light is flashing

There is many a topic on the net about this model loosing its trans, its understood the issue is a design flaw. you would be better off converting it to manual trans than to replace it with another one used or rebuilt or new for that mater as no one can say for sure how long it will last, possibly long enough to sell it.
