2003 Kia sorento

Asked by Teresa Feb 05, 2019 at 06:07 AM about the 2003 Kia Sorento EX 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My stereo went completely dead after acting weird shortly
before going completely dead. Its an after market dvd
player/touchscreen/stereo. Also my power door locks don't
work when i shut off the car and when i put my car in park
the dash lights shut off like they are supposed to do, but
they won't come back on when its put back into drive so i
have to shut the car off and then restart it again to get
them to turn back on. I noticed my back wipers dont work
anymore as well. I replaced my own alternator 5 months
ago and everything was working fine at first and then
gradually things started going out...what could be causing
this? Is it the battery connections? A fuse? Alternator?
Ground wire?

Shortly before my stereo went completely dead, one day the screen was completely black and an error message was displayed on the screen saying something like: WARNING! you're stereo screen will appear reversed or something like that and no buttons or the touchscreen would work and then one day it was back to normal then not long after that it was completely dead and hasn't worked since!
