Ford operates a certified pre-owned (CPO) program in Canada. Unlike its U.S. equivalent, all used vehicles are certified to the same standard, only Ford vehicles qualify, and there is no tiering of perks or privileges.
In Canada, eligible Ford Certified Pre-owned vehicles must:
- Have less than 120,000 kilometres
- Be less than 6 model years old
- Be able to pass a Ford dealership 172-point inspection, a rigorous inspection performed by factory-trained technicians
Warranties
Coverage is provided for a period of 12 months or 20,000 kilometres, whichever completes first, from the expiration of Ford Canada’s new vehicle bumper-to-bumper limited warranty or the date of CPO vehicle purchase, whichever is later. Ford offers the disclaimer that CPO comprehensive limited warranty coverage is not as extensive as that of the new vehicle limited warranty.
Perks
All Ford CPO vehicles are sold with new wiper blades, full tank of fuel, and a fresh oil change.
24-hour Roadside Assistance
Roadside assistance is offered for the remaining duration of the CPO vehicle’s new vehicle limited warranty or through select Ford extended service plans. Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year across Canada or the continental United States and includes: flat tire changes; battery jump starts; towing assistance up to $100; lockout assistance; out-of-fuel assistance; travel reimbursement up to $500 for up to three days of lodging, meals and rental vehicle if the breakdown occurs 160 kilometres or more from the owner’s home; destination assistance that covers taxi, shuttle or rental car expenses up to $75 for emergency transportation to the owner’s immediate destination; and rental car reimbursement of up to $30 per day for up to five days if the vehicle requires overnight mechanical repairs.
Special Financing
Vehicles sold under the Ford certified pre-owned program can be financed through the company’s in-house financial services unit. Ford Credit provides special financing rates, sometimes as low as 1.9%, for Ford CPO vehicles.

A CarProof vehicle history report is supplied by the Ford dealer at time of purchase.
