MINI is owned by BMW, and its certified pre-owned vehicle (CPO) program largely aligns with that offered by its parent company in Canada. To become a CPO vehicle, the MINI must:
- Be within 5 years of its in-service date
- Have fewer than 120,000 kilometres
- Pass a “comprehensive 360-degree” inspection and reconditioning process at a dealership
MINI says that its CPO vehicles will have all maintenance and repair needs taken care of by a factory-trained technician before the vehicle is put up for sale, and any parts used will be genuine MINI parts.
Warranty
Every certified pre-owned MINI vehicle is backed by at least 1 year of warranty coverage. Depending on the age of the vehicle, it may be covered either by the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for up to 4 years or 80,000 kms, whichever comes first, or a 5-year and unlimited-kilometre Powertrain Limited Warranty effective from the vehicle’s in-service date. Extended warranties are available for purchase providing coverage for up to 8 years from the in-service date.
Perks
Emergency Roadside Assistance
The MINI CPO roadside assistance plan lasts for the term of the CPO contract and includes battery service, fuel or fluid delivery and lock-out assistance. In the event of a mechanical breakdown, towing is covered for up to 80 kilometers per incident, to the nearest MINI dealer or authorized service provider. Winching service is also provided if the vehicle requires removal from snow or a ditch.
Vehicle History Report
All MINI CPO vehicles come with a Carfax vehicle history report.
3-day, 300 km Exchange Privilege
Should a MINI CPO purchaser not be satisfied, the vehicle can be exchanged for another MINI certified pre-owned vehicle within 3 days or 300 kilometres of the original sale.
Special Financing
MINI occasionally gives special offers for rates and financing terms for its CPO vehicles. Specific details will vary by model and location.
