Straight 6 engine good and what to look for when purchasing

Asked by Calvin Feb 09, 2019 at 01:38 PM about the 1974 Chevrolet Nova

Question type: General

Is a straight 6 an ok or correct
engine? Price 1974 4 door original
green/brown,  2nd engine,  needs
some work to interior, runs, needs
tune up, things along those lines.
Would classify it (excellent, good
to fair/average) as between good
and fair/average.  What do I need
to look for that would be the
deciding factor in buying or
walking? Their asking $2500.00
for it as is.

However, is there anything I should know other than price anything that should raise a red flag, make me turn around and never look back?

Look for rust which is a deal killer for me. Without photos I cannot say much more about your car.
