Cruise Control problems

Sounds like your brake pedal switch is failed ( or is failing ) or, the spring that holds your brake pedal up is weak or broken. Not sure if your car has separate brake pedal switches for cruise and brake lights but, you can check to see if your brake lights work every time you press the brake pedal or not. If they do, then it sounds like there is a separate switch that "senses" the brake pedal position -- if the switch is sensing the pedal is pressed, cruise will not work. If it does work and does not readily disengage when you press the brake pedal, it again sounds like the pedal switch -- sometimes referred to as a "micro- switch"

... One more note, next time cruise does not work, trying pulling UP on your brake pedal with your foot ( hold it up ) and try it again -- if it works, it's the spring on your brake pedal.
Thanks for the quick reply. Will try both suggestions. Looks like the brake pedal switch or spring is the problem
