fuel system problems

First check your water pump which is the main cooling system. Make sure there is water and that the fan is working with the pump. If its not the pump check the thermostat. In the 1991 Corsica it gets to 195 degrees, but sounds like it is getting hotter than that so make sure that your thermostat is still in good condition and that you have coolant. If you have to replace your thermostat you could get a colder thermostat, but check with your auto repair shop before changing it. If it is not either of those then the energy provided for you car probably runs out and your battery may not be fully charged. Your alternator could be the problem. gp to autozone, borrow one of their obd testers, follow the directions and i bet you will find a bad sensor telling the fuel injection system to shut down due to sensor failure. acmexman

why do u say fuel systom problems? need more info. if fuel pressure is maintaind when car cuts outfule is not probblem . have you checked for cracks or probblems in your disstributor cap and or coil,coil pack?

I have a 1989 with 63,000 original miles.I experienced the same problem twice,both times it was fuel injectors .....very expensive to have fixed. First time one injector was replaced...close to 500.00 ,second time wasn't as expensive ,what upset me was mechanic went to junk yard for injectors n replaced all......500.00 out the door. A mechanic told me to put around 3.00 in higher grade gas when I fill up car as it will help to keep injectors clean

Another problem I experienced was that car would shut down and not start. TG,my nephew is a mechanic He disconnected sensor that goes to trans. He said sensor sends signal that trans is bad which causes car to shut down. The sensor has been disconnected for many years n I have never had same problem with car. My nephew told me it would fine without that sensor............hope this info will help with your troubles..hopefully it will be sensor n not fuel injectors
