Starting issue

My dads truck will turn over but will not start. This
just so happened the day he paid off his truck it
will not start. It has a GPS the company that he
was buying it from on it. The company stated that
they cannot get a signal  from it. My dad put a new
battery but nothing. My brother put a machine on it
to check the code an it stated auto theft. Does
anyone have an answer to why he cannot get it
started.

2 things, the gps box should be removed by the dealer or whoever that installed it upon payoff. Also most diesel shops who claim to specialize in powerstroke diesel repair should have the nessesary software to deal with the PATS system (security). It depends if the gps box is strictly a gps or does it have the ability to disable the truck. If it's just a gps then all it has is a power source and won't be your issue.

Sounds like your Dad financed the vehicle and the device was included. Not only does the device have a GPS unit, but may also have a control device which will disable the vehicle. Look under the dash, they're usually there in plain sight. About the size of a pack of cigarettes.
