Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I want to start changing the oil on my 1990 Chevy Suburban (1500). Is it as simple as removing the oil plug (where is it?), changing the oil filter, replacing the oil drain plug, and adding oil? If so, any special gaskets/washers which need to be replaced along with replacing the oil and filter?

Yep, that's all there is to it. Your drain plug should be located prominently underneath the engine, and should be visible with a quick look. A scan through a Haynes manual or taking your vehicle to a shop that will let you watch them do an oil change will give you all the info you need ot do it yourself the next time.
