The car is a uni-body, with a sub-frame used under the motor and tranny. The sub-frame is bolted to the front of the car, under the rad support, and under the cab. The a-arms are mounted to the sub-frame while the struts mount to the uni-body. I would assume they are refering to your sub-frame being broke but the uni-body should be inspected fro damage. The sub-frame with a-arms wont be cheap but the real money will be spent to fix your uni-body if that is damaged.
It somewhat depends on how fast and AT what angle the wheel when it hit. Judging from the description, it was a fairly hard hit. All of the suspension components pertaining to the front wheel. Just a few I can think of are the rim, tire, control arms, struts and brakes, abs components, lines etc. And those are just the ones that are off the top of head. Whether or not it bent the actual frame or subframe and mainframe will have to be examined. I'm thinking that the main frame wasn't damaged, but would certainly have it inspected. Also a 4 wheel alignment. You may might notice that the car doesn't drive as you remember. Unless there is severe frame damage, our good hands people are only going to give you just a portion of those two hands in the form of two middle fingers. Good luck and let us know how things work out!
