Parking brake light switch for a 1978 Ford Granada

Asked by Guru9LC74T Aug 28, 2021 at 08:05 PM about the 1978 Ford Granada

Question type: General

Where is the parking brake light switch for a 1978 Ford Granada located and
what does it look like? The parking brake dash light stays on constantly even
though the rear brakes
and cables are not dragging or hung up. There is no corrosion since the car
has
never been driven in the winter. I was told that the light could be staying on
because the parking brake light switch is faulty and would like to change the
switch to resolve the problem.

It should be mounted on the parking brake pedal assy. As the pedal is pushed down it open the circuit for the light , when you release the pedal it should close the circuit. Usually only needs adjustment to be sure the switch is fully off. It will have two wire connections on the switch . There is probably two nuts on a round body to adjust it's position with. Hope this helps .

It's located on the upper end of the parking brake pedal and it like a plunger, just screw it out so it's pushed in when brake is released.
