Hello. Sorry for a silly question, but I was wondering. My first car was Audi A4 B5, 1999 year, manual transmision, and it felt like gears shifted with a little help, like with a click, and in my older car, Audi A3 8L 1996 year you just force the gear in. Im not sure if Im clear enough but if you understand can you tell me if this thing has a name and could I make gears shift smoother and with this click on an older car?

I don't think so. Every older car I have driven shifted like that, but the newer ones are made so, the gear just clicks into place.

If the transmission is worn you may want to rebuild it.
