Is a 400M/ C4 combo in a 1976 Gran Torino Wagon rare?
I purchased a 1976 Ford Gran Torino Base Model Wagon last year. I was told it was a C6 car only to find out last night that it has a C4 trans. My intentions are to replace the 400M/ C4 with a 1968 429/ C6 out of a T-Bird. I've been told to get a build sheet and hold off on ripping the car apart until I find out exactly what I have. I was going to rat rod it out because that's what I'm into. Is this engine/ trans combo that rare that I should leave it alone?
