The new column will respond to it's key but the transponder may not link with the original ECM , Far as I know . The dealer should be able to program it ( $$ ) Or maybe it'll work what do I know , have you tried it ?

The security module will need to be reprogrammed to recognize the key from the replacement column. I would try a “Smart” locksmith, they will have the equipment to do the reprogramming, if you can’t find on then your stuck with the expensive dealer.
