hooked up a new battery to my 63 galaxie and when I put the second cable on the car starts rolling over.

thanks for those who answered my last question. i pulled the battery gave it a full charge,and when i went to hook it up the car starts rolling over. positive or negative first or last doesn't matter. could this be the solenoid?

Yes it's sounds like it's stuck in the run/engaged position

Starter solenoid is bad...The contact in the solenoid tend to weld themselves together.
