Right on smoothpoppa, found a lot of cool stuff for my 300 zx,call Nissan the number may have been superceded ( new production number) or may know what will cross w it and have the same function.
Also, you should try JC Whitney.com...they have a nice selection of ignition items and tons of other stuff for the '79 280ZX (Base and 2+2 Models): http://www.jcwhitney.com/spark-plugs-coil-and-ignition/nissan-280zx-1979/c50609d1662y1979j1s23.jcwx?filterid=d1662y1979g2

The ignition relay is obsolete from Nissan. It's the same relay from 1976 to 1980. I make a plug'n'play replacement for that relay and it's better than the original one. I use sealed relays for one thing. You can find them on my online store at www.datsunstore.com part # 15066-NPEE. There are a couple of other relays that have gone obsolete for z's and zx's as well. One by one I'm making new replacements. Z Man of Washington
