got old points out and they seem to be melted a little got new points and run pos wire from fuses and seem to short and wire gets hot

no havent run it. the wire coming from celiniod to coil is how maney volts? cuz i have no power going to coil? and no resister between thats what melted the old points. got car like thisand would love to drive it one day thanks for your help
