What seats will fit my 61 falcon 4 door wagon. I want to

Anything from the mid-size Ford and Mercury of that era would fit, Ford Falcon, Ranchero, Mercury Comet. You won't find anything in a scrap yard except in specialty yards way out west. You might have some luck at swap meets. If you don't mind the rat-rod look you might commission a bomber-style bench seat.

Hmmm not going for the rat rod look.... Trying to keep it in its classical look... This is my first vintage car. So no one builds the bench seat frames? All I see is re-upholstery to put on your current seats... I really don't like the bucket seats they put in it (not to mention they look like they are current bucket seats, not vintage) and I won't find any in scrap yards... Well...

I agree that modern bucket seats look terrible in an older classic car, someone put those in because they liked the look or they didn't have an original seat to begin with. I guess it depends on the quality of the work in finding just the right modern seat that compliments the look of the older car and not detract from it. As to finding an entire seat frame for anything that old, it's either a swap meet item or try searching on various classic car forums. (jalopyjournal.com is a good place to start). You might get lucky and obtain an old frame but you most likely will still have to have it reconditioned and reupholstered.

what state are you located in? Bench seat frames for a flacon are not that hard to find, I know of at least 3 or 4 in NC, they will need redone for sure, the factory buckert seats are near impossible so forget that, If you are good with a welder you can use many different seats from later model falcons , mavericks, etc... you will need to fasion the correct seat mounts, but also not a real big deal. If you are going that route, you will likely need to re upholster anyway, so you could pattern the upholstery to mimic the original seat, I know for a fact that an S10 bench seat is too narrow, as I tried it, I have used buckets from the early 80s fox body cars, take off the head rests and they look somewhat similar to the factory seat. If you have the redone in the pattern for a falcon, its passable, But, you will have to make seat mounts,as the fox cars sat close to the floor

Yes, I'm prepared to have what ever frame I find re- upholstered. I already have a guy for that. Just need a frame and had no clue if it was doable or where to look. I am in Texas around the Austin - Waco area. Like I mentioned, this is all new to me, but I'm excited to find things and see where she goes!
