Happy Holidays! I was just a few weeks ago checking things out with my own '64 Comet while checking to see if some snow tires I found would fit my car Ok. I found this TireSizeWheel Calcultor and I believe it might help you figure things out. Plug in your stock tire size on the lower left, which I believe is 195/75R14 and then on the right you can plug in 4 different other sizes to compare. Here's some screen shots...

I'd love to get a set of Cragars, but I don't believe they have much, or anything that I like in a 4 Lug, 4x4.5, 14" Rim. I'd have to get an adapter and then figure things out adding the meat of the adapter so the tires don't stick out or rub. What kind of rims/tires do you want to install? ...and don't forget to post what you learn... it's VERY helpful...

it is very helpful thank you, I am going to use a tire that 235-65-15, its 8.5 wide and 26 ins tall and a weld wheel that's 15-7 with 5.5 of back spaceing that leave me , one ins on the inside of wheel. I want to put as much tire as I can on it

Is that your !@#$"n CAR?!?!?! That's GORGEOUS! What is that?! What Model?! Jeeze! Thats NICE!!! It's just the Right Temperature of HOT rod! CRAGARS!!! Would Love to know your strategy for 5 Bolt rims, for curiosity and future reference maybe... and I'm sure it would be helpful to others... maybe post something up at Comet Central, where, if you don't already know, you may be able to get some more insight on the tire thing... there was quite a bit discussed there about tire sizes and all that. Oh, wait, did your car come from the factory with 5 lugs? GOD that's a Sweet Ride... V8 of course... I bet that K&N filter cost about a thousand bucks right there... I have a SixSlug 200... I'm having fun with it... I got the car this past July. I put snow tires on it last week, got them off Craigslist, practically new, had about a hundred miles on them, 185/75R14. I had stock size tires 195/75R14's on stock rims 4x4.5... I get a bit hypomanic about things, lost a hubcap, went to ebay for a replacement and a spare, got a replacement, a spare, and many sets of spares, of many different Merc styles, boxes of them! Ha! Same with Carburetors! Just got a really cool Offy Tri-Carb setup for my 6 from Ebay for the price of a good spark plug... i exagerate of course, but it was an Awesome deal, came with 3 1100's and an 1101, 3 GP Carb Kits, and a pile of other stuff. Nice winter project. My Mirrors are round, and the antenna is on the other side. I have a beautiful Red interior as yours. Your wipers, mine sat like that, I thought it was wrong, and that someone took them off, then put them back wrong. I dropped mine down a couple notches to be lower and more in line with the bottom of the windshield. My car came all original w/61K miles, what-U-see is what-I-got... a super turbo great deal... NO Rust, Awesome drive away condition... needed a good wash and a hubcap, which i got about 15 mins after buying the car, ebay $20 bucks shipped... I have manual steering, it's a bit tired, wanders some, ol' timey drivin' feel to it, but I can parallel park it... that's one of my benchmarks as I set about improving my front end parts, my goal being that the car doesn't wander, responds better, and I can parallel park it with ease, without flattening the jap car behind me... fatter tires make for better handling, normal driving, but maneuvering in and out of spaces, especially tight spaces, is a workout, and I believe the steering gear gets more abuse... I have new Moog Problem Solver parts from the Pitman all the way through to install, and I think that'll work for me... I don't think I need power steering or rack... Your Tires and Rims Look AWESOME... I wouldn't change a thing... she's gotta nice stance... I think mine does too... but I need to get her footware right... My Car, just about a week after I bought her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHTV-co5JV0 Thiis is a pic of my dog Minit, and My Comet, I think they go nice together, both aging gracefully...
