Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will a 22R engine out of a car go into a Toyota pick up? I have an 87 4x4 automatic transmission and I have found an 89 car with a 22r in it. I think the car is front wheel drive. Are the engines compatible?

the engine and trans mounts will be different but the engine will work. If there is fuel injection you are in for a bit of a headache with electrical and computer. Carb'd it's not that bad. Same engine if they have the same engine code. 22R is a carbed engine. 22RE is fuel injected.
