Seal could be bad, torque converter could have a groove worn in the part that the seal surface contacts. Seal could have been installed incorrectly. Is this an ongoing issue or a new problem?

Along with the seal issue there is a bushing behind the seal in the pump. Must have a lot of miles on it, and if the vehicle is worth saving, you got yourself a krusin classic.
