what does the volts read at the battery with the car running at idle and at 2500 rpm?

I found the problem. These old dodge trucks have problems at the amp gauge causing it to melt. I conected the wires together which fixed the melting problem but would not let my altenator do its job. I just found a diagram that looks legit and allows everything to run smooth
