1965 Ford Fairlane 500 won't start

Asked by Killingshoes Feb 23, 2017 at 02:45 PM about the 1965 Ford Fairlane

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 65 Ford Fairlane 500 with a 289 motor in it that just stopped running.
I changed the spark plugs but nothing. It turns, BUT does not turn on. It's
getting gas but still nothing. Any suggestions? It has an upgraded electronic
ignition system with a blaster coil. Just not sure what to do from here.

Hmm.. she was running fine then just died. You think that would be a timing issue? and not sure how to check the spark. This is my 1st classic, so im still learning. Thanks for the advice!

pull the coil wire and ground it, see if you have spark. It may be a bad coil if there is no spark, also check your points , see if the gap is correct.
