Is the 2010/11 ford 4.0 v6 compatible in my 2003 mercury mountaineer?

I found a 2010 4.0 with 90k that is
cheaper than the timing chain
replacement kit plus special timing
tools, gaskets, time, frustration,
blood, ect....... For my 2003 mercury
mountaineer, the block and heads
are what I'm inquiring about. Upon
opening my engine it doesn't look
like it well taking care of, plus
possible head gasket leak. Will the
2010 sealed long block be
compatible with my truck and
accessories?

It may bolt up, but if the new engine has two cam chains, one in the back and one in the front, you're still looking at the same repair down the road. Then there may be PCM issues. Computer may be looking for values during operation which were changed in the 2010 model year. Check on the motorcraft web site for remaned engines for both year vehicles. If the part numbers are the same, you're good to go.
