Driving conditions could cause excessive fuel consumption, such as stop and go driving, city traffic. When was the car last tuned up, plugs, wires, oil change, air filters?

Opels are basically gas guzzlers. Avoid traffics and maintain speeds. Even a slight more accelerator press results in a drop. Get the fuel lines checked and cleaned. Fuel pump serviced air filter checked body Throttle Decarborised, wheels Aligned, clutch setting checked, brakes seviced, tyre pressure maintained weekly. this should get the best out of the beast of a car. Good luck
