Asked by Banele Sep 12, 2016 at 02:27 PM about the 1998 Opel Corsa

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I accidentaly thrown a 3 liters of water into the fuel tank, I thought it's a
petrol.

Now when I start the car it cuts out. I believe there's water in the injectors.

I tried to drain the tank, but I believe there's some in to the engine.

Please help

Draining water from the tank is easy, put a jug after the fuel filter and keep toggling the key until all fluid is sucked out of the tank. Change filter afterwards. for the lines and injectors your going to need a bottle of Dry-gas (gas line antifreeze) and crank the engine until it clears up.

I apologize for the delayed response, Right after you left this helpful message I bought a 500ml PETROL Fuel System Treatment. And a Fuel Filter from Auto Zone. I followed your instructions but I also used a Vacuum cleaner and a hose-pipe to drain all the water from the tank. I followed all the instructions in the fuel system treatment bottle. I'm very happy with the performance of my car... THUMBS UP Lost4now &CARGURU.COM
