Revs doest go up more than 4000rpm

My opel corsa utility revs dont go up more
than 4000rpm, when i start it and rev it, the
revs go up to 7000rpm and then the service
light comes and the revs go down to
4000rpm. What can be the problem.

Sounds like it could be your throttle control sensor, or your Idle air (IAC) control sensor!
