How do I replace a fan-belt tensioner

I need some advice to replace a noisy fan-belt tensioner

after removing the belt of course, just hook up the appropriate metric socket. It may have left hand threads depending on its location. if it only seems to tighten carefully try it the other way.

Charlotte, I would suggest looking for a youtube video on the subject. There are several and they should give you a good idea on how to do the project.
