This is a standard GM tune up (spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor). Nothing special about it. The problem you're running into is the 18 year old "techs" out there have never seen a distributor cap or spark plug wires. They've especially never seen an ignition coil in the distributor cap that needs to be transferred from the old cap to the new one! What you need is an older mechanic who remembers these ignition systems. Someone over 40. Believe it or not your local GM Dealer may have one. When I had my 1970 Pontiac Catalina, about 20 years ago, my local Chevrolet Dealer had a mechanic in their service department who had been there since 1972. When I had a problem with the car that I couldn't fix myself I always took it there and requested him. He really enjoyed working on it and always did a great job! So find yourself an older mechanic and you'll be all set. You can also get a factory shop manual from either Ebay or Faxon Auto Literature in Riverside CA and you and your brother can learn to do the tune up yourselves. It'll be fun and you'll be sure to get the job done right. Hope that helps! Jim
