2008 GMC Envoy stalled out while driving and won't start. Can't shift out of park.

While driving, my friend's 2008 GMC Envoy stalled out. I started it back up, and tried to turn around to
go back home, when it did it again and wouldn't start back up. He couldn't even shift it to neutral to
push it out of the road. It had a full tank of gas, and the electrical worked, so there was power. What the
heck is going on?

Get it to a local GM dealer. The computer in these control everything. There is a possibility its the ignition switch but there is slim chance of finding out without the proper diagnostic computers. When I say they control everything I literally mean everything.

Hello MOERED, I am glad you are safe but sorry to hear you're having issues with your 2008 GMC Envoy. I would also suggest you taking it into your GM dealership to have it checked. If you would like to private message me your VIN, name, and current mileage, I would be glad to check to see if there are any open recalls or special coverages that are related to this issue you're having. If so, email me at socialmedia@gm.com Attn: Vanessa in the subject line. Vanessa GM Customer Service Vanessa GM Customer Service
The vehicle is cursed. I have these issues and more. It started with simple stalling as if it were running out of gas (no, quarter tank). Now, dash lights work intermittently, acts as if battery is dead, even with booster attached. Dims the overhead lights and turns the dash lights off completely. Most of the time no click or rattle of any type from under the hood. In turning it on and thinking I had a fuel pump problem originally I discovered I was only getting 5 volts back to the fuel pump (should be 12). The issues keep going. It is cursed.
