Starter. I need help.

I have a 1967 Ford F100, the starter started to drag and I put  a different starter in it. When I turned it over, it'd catch on the flywheel for a bit, and then kick off, what could be the issue? When i put a brand new one it, it don't

bad starter,try another one.stay away from auto zone-advance auto on any electeral part.get one from a independent parts store.
