how do i get my 1968 ford f100 to start in park instead of drive

its a 1968 ford f100 with a 360 v8 in it and when i start it it will only start in drive im only
14 so i know my basic mechanics but not in specific details

In this model,there should be a switch on the tranny,at the shifter rod going into tranny,it may be a simple as replacing it,or adjusting the shifter at it.

In newer model car,s it is called a neutral switch,and i would think it is the same in this year model.

The neutral safety switch is on the top of the steering column in the cab. Move the shift lever while watching the steering column under the dash, you'll see it moving. It's a simple adjusyment. Truck should only start in park and neutral.
