1970 f100 custom sport - won't turn over!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1970 F100 Custom Sport. The battery died last week and I replaced it
but after it will not turn over. When I turn the key, it wants to turn over but
won't. If I put the gas pedal to the floor it sputters a bit then dies. Here is what
I have done to address: 1. Tested the new battery voltage which is good (+13)
2. Replaced battery clamps 3. Checked all battery connections including wire
to the starter and the ground to the block (all are tight) 4. Removed and tested
starter (it passed) 5. Replaced the solenoid  What am I missing? I was thinking
of replacing the cable to the starter and the ground to the block in case there
is a bad terminal crimp but surely there must be something that I am not
seeing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am a novice but handy and
can get around a car for the most part. Thanks
