1971 f100

Asked by Jmnlz98 Feb 07, 2016 at 06:14 PM about the 1971 Ford F-100

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently my 71 F1 hundred was driving
down the road and acted as if it ran out of
gas.    I had accidentally put about 8
gallons of gas regular unleaded with
ethanol in it and thought that would be OK
to run through the system.    I suspected
that I might've run out of gas so I added
three more gallons of regular unleaded with
ethanol.    When realizing what I had done I
drained the fuel tank by siphoning out as
much as I could get out.    I added 5
gallons of 100% pure gasoline used carb
cleaner to clean the carburetors best I can.
Now when I try to start it it will only fire up
for a few seconds burning off the carb
cleaner. Any suggestions would be helpful
