Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1971 F100 with 302. Been having ongoing carb
issues. Replaced stock intake manifold and carb,
Edelbrock. No improvement noted. When truck is at
idle, runs smoothly and responds to idle air quality
adjustments but when put into gear it goes dead.

I believe your curb idle should be set at between 500 and 600 RPMs. Are you sure you are at this set point?

Prior to last modifications I changed old intake manifold gasket and rebuilt stock 2 barrel carb and had same results as now

Check the ignition timing. I wonder if the accelerator pump on the carb is working.
