Straight six refers to the engine not the trans, specifically an inline six cylinder engine. As the other post said three on the tree is a 3 speed column shift.

You mean "Three on the tree" , which refers to a 3 speed manual transmission with the shifter being on the steering column. The "straight six" refers to an inline six cylinder engine.

Is your truck an auto or a clutch? If its a clutch is a c9. If its an auto its a c6 or c4.
