Have you remove dist cap and dried the condensation out of it? Also clean the corrosion off the tips in the cap and rotor button.
Thank you I'll give it a try and let you know ...Regards Dennis
Oh and fresh gas is a must. Clean out tank and then add new gas with some sea foam mixed in.
Might want to check into a conversion to get away from the points. Should be able to get a direct bolt in. I think the last one I bought was about $30 or so.(it's been a while) but was well worth it. Never did have points issues again. Thanks tennisshoes I missed just how old it was.
Cleaned rotor etc put in new fuel will try new points condenser tomorrow Thanks all..
What do you mean about "Conversion" Just had a closer look in distributor and wiring to coil could not find condenser and without removing distributer could not see normal point system ?? Photo enclosed ...
It appears it has already been converted to electronic ignition. That's a good thing.
If cap and rotor in descent shape I would just clean them up and re install them. If not purchase new ones. With your ignition having been converted already you will not have points and condenser in it any more.
I would not think so. It should be ok. Look closely at the spark plugs and plug wires tho.
If after all this you still don't have spark on the plugs check and make sure you have 12 volts going to the coil.
