f100 stalls in gear

i have an 82 f100 4.9 300 she has vacuum leaks but in idle runs great timing was set to 10 degrees and carb was rebuilt and cleaned by a local carb shop but the truck itself has trouble starting runs in idle i can mash the gas no problem revs up with peddle but every time i put it in gear it stalls any ideas?

these are the things i have narrowed it down to carb is a possibility but vaccum advance,fuel pump maybe i doubt it though (fuel filters brand new), and torque converter is a slim possibility.

it dosent drive at all and i know it has a major exhaust leak so im assuming it has an intake leak as well but i drove it home from chief land Florida to Pinellas county which is a 200 mile drive my buddy decided to adjust the car and timing im not sure what else he did and he does not remember since then iv replaced the entire ignition system done timing and adjusted the carb

ok what is the best way to check the torque converter without removing it if their is a way at all

iv had no problems slipping overheating or anything tranny related that im aware of

I have a 1969 ford f100 240 6 cin it starts up good plenty of power when it idling but going down the road it's like it cuts off then it picks back up and the power is weak can you tell me the problem thanks
